License on Works

Created by D5 Render, Modified on Thu, 13 Nov at 10:02 PM by D5 Render

D5 Works currently offers two license types. You’ll find the license on each product detail page, and you can also filter by License in search. The Creator sets each Product’s license and defines how it may be used. Different licenses are suitable for different scenarios—please review them before downloading or purchasing.

License Type

1) Personal License

  • Scope: Permitted for personal learning, practice, and non-commercial creation or display (e.g., personal portfolio, class assignments, non-commercial social media posts).
  • Not allowed: any form of commercial gain or promotion (including ads/affiliate or paid promotions, client-paid work, company/studio projects); reselling or re-distributing the files; bundling into asset libraries or templates; transferring or sublicensing; multi-user account/seat sharing.
  • Seat: Single Seat —restricted to one individual user only

2) Project License

  • Scope: Permitted for commercial or business use. This includes, but is not limited to: advertising, company projects, third-party deliverables, selling finished images/videos, and corporate websites or marketing collateral.
  • Allowed Uses:
    • Repeated use by one Single seat within the same company/team across one or more projects
    • Reasonable modifications and compositing for project needs.
  • Not allowed:
    • Reselling source files,
    • Re-distributing the asset where it is the primary value (e.g., asset packs/templates/extractable files)
    • Transferring or sublicensing the license;
    • Multi-user sharing of a single seat.
  • Seat: Single Seat by default. For multiple members or concurrent use, please purchase additional seats or contact the Works team.

Note: Certain Products may incorporate third-party rights (e.g., people/likenesses, trademarks, or building façades). If your intended use requires it, you must obtain the necessary releases or property/model permissions yourself.

Rights & Responsibilities

  • Licensor and Platform

    • Licensor: The Creator grants the license directly to the User.
    • D5 Works: acts only as the platform operator and information presenter, relaying the applicable license terms. D5 Works is not a party to the license agreement itself.
  • Product rights defects:
    • D5 Works role: If a Product is found to have rights defects (e.g., issues with copyright, trademark, right-of-portrait, or undisclosed third-party licenses), D5 Works reserves the right to remove it upon receiving a credible infringement notice.
    • Creator's Responsibility: The Creator is responsible for handling all related disputes and compensating for any losses arising from the defective rights.
    • User Protection: Good-faith use by Users, provided it remains within the scope of the granted license, should be protected.
  • User compliance:
    • User's Responsibility: Should a dispute arise because a User exceeds the scope of the license or otherwise violates the license agreement, the User bears full responsibility.
  • License Revocability:
    • Status of Existing Licenses: After a Transaction has been successfully completed, the granted license is generally not revocable.
    • Effect of Withdrawal: Subsequent withdrawal or access restriction by the Creator or D5 Works does not affect licenses that have already been granted (refer to the D5 Works Technical Service Agreement for details).
